A real estate referral agent is an individual who is licensed with the state of Florida who wishes not to join the Board of Realtors or The Multiple Listing Service nor take on the responsibilities and activities of a full-time real estate professional. The referral agent simply refers potential buyers or sellers to a full-time real estate agent, who will then manage the customer’s real estate transaction.
Referral Agents cannot show properties, write contracts or perform any services a fulltime real estate professional can perform. The referral agent receives a portion of the commission on the real estate transaction from referring a customer once the transaction closes. A referral agent must be part of a brokerage in order to act as a referral agent and receive commissions for referrals.
